ROCK STAR SUPERNOVA Wants Body Bags For New Year's Eve Show

November 13, 2006

Drummer Tommy Lee and Lukas Rossi spoke with "CD USA" about ROCK STAR SUPERNOVA playing the DirecTV program's New Year's Eve show in Las Vegas this year at The Joint. "We're actually doing New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, two nights that are sold out at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. It's just gonna be insane, dude. We actually had a production meeting yesterday about it and I can't tell you what’s gonna happen but I'm gonna guarantee you something right now, The Joint, is gonna be called Dis-Jointed by the time we're done with that place. . . The goal is that we want everyone to leave there after the show pretty much…we're gonna make a lot of reservations for body bags and ambulances that night. We're takin' 'em outta there one by one. Boom! Boom! Boom!"

ROCK STAR SUPERNOVA — whose lineup is completed by guitarist Gilby Clarke (ex-GUNS N' ROSES) and bassist Jason Newsted (VOIVOD, ex-METALLICA) — will release its self-titled debut album on November 21 via Burnett/Epic Records. Audio samples of all 11 songs that are set to appear on the CD can be found at the Sony Music Store (upper right-hand corner).

As previously reported, Newsted has been sidelined by injuries to his left shoulder, right bicep and right rotator cuff. The former METALLICA member, who was injured trying to catch a 90-pound piece of equipment that had fallen from atop of his amp, is scheduled for immediate surgery and a rehab schedule that could last up to nine months. Former BLACK CROWES member Johnny Colt has been drafted to replace him.
